Chitchat

It is great skill to be part of all sorts of chitchat (small talk) like about politics, sports, IT industry and current affairs. The main places of chitchat are cafeteria, tea / lunch time and over the travel. The last one and half years I got chance to know different people everyday while commute to office in cab and persons in the cab would change mostly every week according to route chart but same set of people will meet very frequently. After two or three gather we get bit closure to discuss all sorts of topics.

Most of days the topics around real estate, IT (IT slowdown), cost cut techniques in office, hike scenarios, share market, latest films / songs, terrific traffic (Comparatively Chennai traffic is very good than other metros) rarely latest trends / technologies in IT industry. Sometimes we go along with topics of the day in FM radios, it is generally very funny. Well, the chatter while travel in amazing and more interesting.

The other place for chatter is cafeteria (of course lunch time) with my project mates, topics would be mostly same; I don’t think any other interesting topics familiar to these (IT) people (including me) LOL. As because we are in lunch, people start discuss about recipes of their foodstuff. Interestingly they will explain like chief cook but possibly they never been get in to their home kitchen.

I know, some people who never get in to these kinds of discussion but part of the same gang and just listen simply what is going around. Some others used to be an active member in chatter and want to be a closure of the discussion with their own perspective. I won’t like both of these two gangs.

Just in my point of view, if you want to be familiar with buzzword chitchat,
  • Keep update yourself with current affairs, sports, politics, cinema, and with your own industry and read dailies.
  • Depart your shyness
  • Accept critics / praise and used to do that as well
  • Know everyone else is as like you (comfortable / uncomfortable) and looking for good topics
  • Ask questions and lead the discussion lively
  • Be excited with the buzzword “Chitchat”

I know a corporate trainer by profession early he was call center executive who is not at all strong in his technical topic / subject but very effectively doing his jobs as because he is good chatter, - Just in my point of view.

I do chat with different people for different subject, specifically for current affairs with one of my friend who is also my roommate now, for technical / functional / latest IT trends with my colleague who writes with me for our technical blog and he introduced me to LinkedIn. Another fantastic chatter is my friend and roommate while I have been in Pune and he introduced me to this blog world.

Thank you all buddies!!!
